In the winter of 2013, Campbell & Malcolm decided to buy a boat together. Campbell's old tinnie was coming to the end of its life and Malcolm was losing interest in leasing boats each year. We found a 2007 Fyran 530 Horizon that suited nicely.
Parking it behind Campbell's house (at that time) in Lake Road, Northcote was a challenge. There was a steep narrow driveway to drive down (not reversing) then a complex set of manouevres by hand to position the boat facing outwards without losing it over banks. (See later story about this problem with the old boat!) Malcolm came up with a great solution using a remote controlled, battery operated winch fixed to the concrete behind the house and it worked a dream! Took all the effort (and stress) out of the job.
Plan B was born
After some weeks of considering names for our new toy, we agreed on the name "Plan B". Malcolm used his architectural skills to come up with a great font, and Peter did the signwriting.
