Back in the 1970's in Auckland, Ann & I used to go out on charter trips on the Florence Kennedy - always very successfully.
In 1996 I became the proud owner of my first boat - a 14' 6" (4.4m) Alicraft "tinnie" (which I never named). It served me well over the years and we had many, many successful, enjoyable trips in it. Whilst Rangitoto Channel and Motuihe Island were our regular haunts, we also ventured from Takapuna as far out as the "Noises" and even circumnavigated Waiheke Is. Peter Jaekal was my regular fishing buddie. By 2013 the boat was so full of leaks despite multiple repairs, that I had to replace it. I sold it on TradeMe with full disclosure as to its state.
Malcolm used to lease various boats on an annual basis from "Dreamboats" at Westhaven Marina in Auckland City.
